ElectroAcupuncture in Houston

ElectroAcupuncture, or E-Stim Acupunture, is the use of gentle, safe electrical stimulation applied to needles which have been inserted into an acupoint, or “ah shi” points on the body. The current is between 40 to 80 volts and there is only enough stimulation for the client to feel a slight pulsating sensation.

The session begins with the traditional placement of acupuncture needles, then a small electrode is attached to the needle and the stimulation runs between the two points. This electrode provides a gentle vibration or pulsing that activates the chi running through these acupoints. ElectroAcupuncture operates on the principle that a person’s chi, runs through body’s meridians. When these meridians are by electric pulsing various problems, such as chronic pain can be alleviated. there are different types of electrical current that can be run through the acupuncture needles. Micro-current is a millionth of an amp which is too low to cause a muscle twitch or nerve response but has specific profound effects on a cellular level. Different types of electrical currents can be used for specific purposes such as repairing connective tissue tears, muscle strains or ligament/tendon damage.
